We’ve looked at the most expensive homes previously, as well as the largest, and best pools.
Now it is just the most expensive new construction homes.
Custom Builders
Here are just a few of the custom builders in the Fort Hood area:
If you are looking for a custom home in the Fort Hood area, the minimum should plan on spending is $300,000. The most expensive new built home on the MLS at the moment is a relatively affordable $615,900, however many builders – especially custom builders – do NOT put their homes on the MLS and are therefore not shown here. The best way to find a great builder is to talk to a Realtor like myself who knows the area.
Unlike most tract and spec builders, many custom builders only build a handful of homes a year. Many of these builders make their homes in Fort Hood’s high-end neighborhoods like Bella Charca, River Ridge Ranch, and Walnut Creek.
What do you get with these builders? Besides the obvious quality craftsmanship and exquisite furnishings, custom builders have a lot more flexibility to change floor plans and make custom modifications that suit your particular preferences. Some of these homes even have secret rooms built into them.

Jumbo Loans
Where does one get a loan for these homes? Most loans are limited to purchase prices up to $453,100 as of 2017, which covers most of the high-end construction in the Fort Hood area. For amounts over that amount, usually you will be looking at a “Jumbo” loan with higher interest rates and down payment requirements. However, you can actually still use your VA loan if you have that entitlement. You can use the VA for the amount up to $453,100, and then an down payment is required for amounts over $453,100. To get the latest mortgage requirements, talk to a local recommended lender!
