Harker Heights is known as the Fort Hood area city with the higher home values (approximately 50% higher than the median Fort Hood area home). It has many more established parts of town that have maintained their property values even in the face of rampant building and growth in the area. And it includes many of those higher end new neighborhoods like Evergreen Estates, The Ridge, Tuscany Meadows, and The Grove.
The Ridge
The most expensive home to sell in Harker Heights in 2017 went for $480,000 in The Ridge, a 3300 square foot home originally built by the local custom builder Cameo with a pool and oversized lot. Indeed, the priciest communities in Harker Heights are often those nearest Stillhouse Hollow Lake.
Other Neighborhoods
Of the top 10 priciest homes to sell in the Harker Heights market, 1 was in The Ridge, 2 were in the well-appointed heart of Harker Heights, Country Trails, bordered by Hwy 190, Indian Trails and Knights Way. And 2 were in Sutton Place, on the far east side of Harker Heights with a tall hill in the center and a mix of custom builder and spec construction.
