Residential Land
The most expensive residential lot sold in 2017 went for a modest $260,000 in Harker Heights behind the Market Heights shopping plaza, sold by the Whitis Family, one of the major developers in the Fort Hood area. The cheapest was a narrow .26 acre lot on the north side of Killeen that sold for $1000. 224 lots sold in 2017 total, in Bell, Coryell, and Lampasas Counties.
Of course, most residential land is designed for homes, though some might be available to be subdivided. If you are considering custom building a home in the Fort Hood Area, be sure to check out these builders and information. And talk to a Realtor! Almost always, you will want to choose your builder before you choose or buy your land and lots.
Commercial Land
Only two commercial unimproved lots sold in 2017 on the CTXMLS, though that number may be affected by the transition between MLSs. There were certainly more than that.
Though it is true that the MLS is not the most common place for commercial transactions. Most commercial brokers rely on sites like LoopNet to sell commercial and land, or even don’t advertise the listing publicly at all.
Raw Land
166 acreage lots sold in 2017, with the priciest fetching just over $1M in Temple with 170 acres.
Raw land is different from commercial and residential depending on zoning. Common uses are for hunting/fishing, grazing, agriculture, or future development into commercial/residential uses.
